OUR STORY

Welcome to BitterSweets! We’re Russell and Ryan Kidd, the brothers behind this one-of-a-kind candy company. BitterSweets was born from our childhood experiences and a bit of sibling mischief. Growing up, we didn’t have the easiest time at home. Our stepmother, Eveline (who we affectionately nicknamed “Eviline”), was known for her strict and often over-the-top punishments. One of her favorite methods? Making us wash our mouths out with soap or forcing us to eat strange, awful concoctions when we misbehaved.

Rather than let those memories sour our view of the world, we decided to turn them into something creative. Inspired by those bizarre childhood moments, we came up with the idea for BitterSweets: a line of candies that look sweet, but taste… not so sweet. We wanted to give parents a fun way to teach their kids about consequences. Our concept is simple: if you misbehave, you might just get a candy that tastes worse than you can imagine. It’s a playful, yet effective reminder that actions have consequences.
